After what has seemed an age, at last the rentrée. With rucksack weighted to commando training capacity, number 2 son files back onto the school bus and some degree of order can now be restored at home. And with the peak tourist season over, the weekly village market no longer fills every street, there’s tables free at the restaurants and we’re once again able to park outside the office – in short (and from a purely selfish point of view), better..
